Family Farm Day - Coby Ice Cream Returns!

For the first time in nearly 60 years, ice cream made right here at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech is back—and you can be among the first to enjoy it! Join us during Family Farm Days at the Dairy Processing Center for a scoop (or two) of our campus-produced ice cream, crafted by the Institute for Rural Vitality's food science team using milk from the SUNY Cobleskill dairy herd. Choose from a variety of delicious flavors, tour our state-of-the-art Dairy Processing Center, meet some of our adorable calves, and learn how today's students are carrying on a sweet campus tradition for a new generation. Whether you're reliving fond memories or creating new ones with your family, this is a stop you won't want to miss!
Advanced Fiber Sorting & Grading Course
July 25 - 26 & August 1
Learners will receive a more in-depth education on fiber characteristics, structure, types and how to identify them. Learners will learn more about developing a business sorting for other fiber bearing livestock owners or fiber purchasers. Earners will have the opportunity to examine alpaca, wool and other fiber types. In addition, instruction in documentation and record keeping will be presented, along with requirements for different sorting clients. Participants must have taken Basic Fiber Sorting, Grading, and Classing to enroll. Thanks to grant funding from EMmpire State Development you can currently obtain this certification for only $175 (50% off!)
